Britain's Next Top Model have enlisted the help of some top, top models - and my, they're pretty
Whitney Port (aka massive great style crush) and model Tyson Beckford (aka massive great crush, crush) are to join Elle Macpherson and Julien Macdonald in hosting the *new look* eighth season of Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model.
Global style icon, ‘The Body’ and all-round legend Elle Macpherson will still be at the helm, alongside fashwan type (and designer) Julien Macdonald - only *now* they’ll have Tyson and Whitney there for support.
Whitney says (while probably swishing her glossy hair back and forth): “I am so excited to be joining Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model. I’m a huge fan of the show and am honoured to be in the company of the talented fellow judges and host, all fashion figures and designers I admire. As a designer and someone who loves fashion, this is a role I’m really looking forward to. Plus any chance to spend more time in the UK is an added bonus.”
Because you want to become our new BFF (Best Fashion Friend) too, right Whit’?
Whitney Port & Lauren Conrad were BF's on The Hills - a magical land where everyone is both beautiful and stylish
For those of you who have been trapped under a mountain of shoes since 2006 (it can happen) Whitney found fame in MTV’s award-winning (read addictive) show The Hills, before taking the lead alongside Olivia Palermo (double swoon) in The City.
The city in question was New York, where unsurprisingly Whit’ soon cut her teeth in the world of fashion, modelling for DKNY Jeans, working for Teen Vogue (*Vogue*) and landing a job with Diane Von Furst(for fashion)enberg for the hit MTV show.
Her style stats’ soared and soon Whit’ became the ‘every girl’ style icon thanks to her FIT taste in fashion, effortlessly mixing high end labels like DVF and Chanel with high street brands H&M, Urban Outfitters and Topshop. Throw in her own successful clothing line Whitney Eve, as loved by Heidi Klum, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton and Kourtney Kardashian, et voila, you have one serious style crush. Take a look at her SS12 range here...
Speaking of crushes…HELLO Tyson (beep beep honk honk) The ACTUAL Sexiest Man Alive - as twice anointed by People magazine, Tyson has also been the face of Ralph Lauren (the fashion line, not the designer’s actual face…that’d be weird) and has appeared in heaps of music videos, famously riding a bike (motor not push) in Britney Spear’s Toxic video…be still our beating hearts…want to see him in action? Scroll down.
Tyson even starred in Zoolander as “one seriously good looking model” (can’t have been that hard mind) cue Blue Steel™ to camera…he says: “Having guest judged on last season’s series, it’s fantastic to be taking on a permanent role on the panel this year and I’m looking forward to finding the next editorial star.”
Executive Producer Elle MacFIERCEson (fierce in a fashion sense, obvs) is almost as excited as we are about our new BFFs (humour us) saying: “It was incredibly important for us when considering who we should hire, that the individuals chosen brought with them personal experience and success which would perfectly complement the show’s aspirations and style – in Whitney and Tyson, I know we have come up trumps.”
That you have Elle, that you have. Now let’s all go and sup Cosmopolitans to celebrate, yeah? Elle, Elle? Never mind…
Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model is a Thumbs Up production (fitting that) and will air on Sky Living this summer. Which, let’s be honest, can’t come soon enough. The glam’ models-in-waiting will once again fight it out for 1 contract, a cover shoot with Company Magazine plus campaigns with Revlon and Miss Selfridge.
Meaning you can expect tears, tantrums, tans and a whole lorra tit-tape, and that’s just us.
Mmm Tyson, on a motorbike...
